Darkness Within: In Pursuit of Loath Nolder which is the first of a series of three games, is a panoramic first person 3D adventure/horror thriller game which takes place in an imaginary "Lovecraftian" place called Wellsmoth. The story of the game was written with the help of the impressions of the great writer H.P. Lovecraft’s works. So players will encounter a dark and frightening world to interact with, and sinister characters to speak with or beware of. Thus, the game’s environment and characters were designed appropriately for the series' main objective which is to give fear, psychological pressure and most important of all, a Lovecraftian feeling to the gamer. This Lovecraftian environment is enriched with a deep and immersing story, cinematics and music.

"Once, there were eras of darkness that were full of fear. Thus all of them were tried to be drowned in the waters of Lethe, erased from time. But they have survived in the memories, nightmares, and the prayers of earth and the ones who still believe in them. As told in the prophecies, It will come back when the time comes. Because there are things that can come out from even the stormy pit of Tartaros." Marinus, from the "Primitiva" The Earth holds many secrets within, some of them are willing and others not. If one seeks and searches thoroughly, they can find much more than expected. These may be glorious, wondrous and marvelous but it has to be kept in mind that there are things which were not, which are not and which shall not be good for mankind. And, even if the end will be destruction, sometimes it is good to be unaware of it It was a cold November day of the year 2011 when our protagonist, police detective Howard E. Loreid, was given a new case in which he had to find a fugitive murder suspect. A murder suspect he always wanted to get acquainted with; Loath Nolder. And this case would change his life into something that could not be described with our inadequate words. If you ask him, he would say that he probably is a lucid dreamer or has a sleep disorder like sleep paralysis or night terror. But it is sometimes only a thin line between the waking world and the dream world... Loath Nolder was a successful private detective. He had a lot of successfully solved cases and thus his name as a private detective has become well-known all over the Wellsmoth. But, it was his last case which made him suddenly suspend his job and went on an abroad travel which would lasted for five years. During this travel about which absurd rumors have been spread, Loath Nolder visited some African and Oceania countries. He lived with the native people of these places who normally did not welcome strangers and some of which are cannibals. From tribe shamans and sorcerers he learned a lot of things, including the ones about himself. When he was back, he was no longer the old Loath Nolder. His appearance and way of thinking changed drastically and he had developed a skin disease which looks like eczema or skin cancer which never completely understood. "The reason why some truths which remain from ancient times are now ignored as superstitions is maybe because they do not get along with the truths in which we now believe. Certainly there must be thousands of symbols and diagrams like the ouroboros, the ankh, the swastika and the dversahe. With the knowledge of these things, the splendid black gates and the secrets behind them can be discovered.” Hassan Yebb, from the book "The Book of Pronunciation of Zieises" When he was back, he did not contact anyone and continued his investigations. His family would aware of his return to Wellsmoth when he was being searched by police. After his five years of absence, he accepted the first case submitted to him, the disappearance of Clark Field. But because of some unlawful events occurred during this case, he has become a murder suspect and disappeared

 

 

 

A new case was opened about his disappearance and given to police detective Howard who, with his admiration for Nolder’s intelligence, had followed all news about Loath Nolder from media. Henceforth, his life would never been the same again.

After a short time, Loath Nolder was found by a police officer, lying unconsciously and then hospitalized for his health condition. But after a brief time under surveillance, he has escaped from the hospital in a strange fashion and disappeared once again. Some say that the escape of Loath Nolder from the hospital made Howard smile subtly; and even there are some people who claim that they saw him become upset when someone found Loath Nolder other than him.

Now Howard, as an ordinary man, must face dire truths hidden and sleeping for aeons. He must find Loath Nolder or shun him...

It will be dark, prepare for it.

 

* Various different places to see: In order to find clues and solve events, player travels through many different places including shiny and vivid outdoors, dark gloomy and mysterious underground passages, an old sinister mansion, strange ruins, and an old witch cemetery.

* Gruesome and beautiful dynamic environments: Life is scattered around the game world. Player can always catch a small detail to feel it. All environments are completed with sky, water, fog and aerial events like rain and snow. Lit with flares, torches, sun shine and moon light. Living things around, make the places lived and sometimes dreadful.

* Interactive and engaging puzzles: Players should generate different ways to get clues out of objects and situations, and solve the puzzles which are blended seamlessly into the story. Clicking, dragging, rotating, using, combining and zooming are all required.

* An all new thinking system, firstly seen in the adventure genre:All clues and thoughts should be linked into each other in some way to reach other clues. Player should also consider how to gain ideas from items, people, situations and environment.

* Thrilling, dreadful and interesting storyline: With the inspiration of the great writer H.P. Lovecraft's works and the true myths and legends of the old earth, Loath Nolder Labores Solis invites you to play the role of the detective Howard E. Loreid who will face unimaginable dire truths which will soon fall down over the mankind. And he must (as a duty or wish?) find Loath Nolder or shun him.

* Hectic and surprising game process: Unexpected events and fear moments keep the players on their toes.

* Feeling and hearing with your character:Gameplay vision changes according to the main character’s mood and psychological condition. His reactions against the events are both seen and heard.

Howard Philips Lovecraft, the genius writer of the gothic literature. No need to mention about him to whom read his stories well. He always plunged into the dim past of our very own world and the vast emptiness of space; there he found something which others never saw and processed it in a perfect way. Thus he formed a dreadful and attractive fictional universe. And we always impressed by the stories of him which based on this fictitious but cogent universe, fictitious but with his writing, real as today. And by this impression, the main idea of the Loath Nolder game series has been appeared and developed. For this and for all of his writings which opened a new perspective for us we want to thank him.
